UPDATE: Bibb School Bus Involved in Accident
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Macon woman is facing charges after crashing into a Bibb County school bus.
Stephanie Hartley with the school district tells 41NBC the accident happened around 7 a.m. on Forsyth Road near Howard High School. Hartley says there were 36 students on the bus at the time.
The Bibb Sheriff’s Office says 36-year-old Tianitia Tolbert was driving a Nissan Maxima east bound when she crossed the center line of the road and hit the front driver’s side bumper of the school bus with the driver’s side of her car.
Tolbert was taken to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition. Deputies say one student was sent to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The student is listed in stable condition. The sheriff’s office says five other students had complaints and were treated at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
Deputies say Tolbert was cited for driving with a suspended license, failure to maintain lane, and open container. Bibb Sheriff’s patrol deputies say Tolbert was not impaired.
