UPDATE: Arrest made in deadly shooting on Montpelier Avenue

Deputies arrived on scene and found 49-year-old Ernestine Frye with a single gunshot wound.

UPDATE (2/15) – Bibb County investigators arrested 43-year-old April Powell of Macon in connection with the shooting death of 49-year-old Ernestine Frye.

Powell was taken from Investigation Headquarters to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.

She faces a charge of murder and currently does not have a bond.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A woman is dead after being shot Wednesday night at a home in the 2300 block of Montpelier Avenue.

It happened just after 6 p.m., according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Deputies arrived on scene and found 49-year-old Ernestine Frye with a single gunshot wound. She was taken to Atrium Health Navicent for treatment and was pronounced dead there.

No one else was injured.
