ORIGINAL STORY (5/1)

DOOLY COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A “serious injury” vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon has resulted in conflicting reports about which lanes are affected on Interstate 75 in Dooly County.

The Dooly County Sheriff’s Office, via a Facebook post, reported that all northbound lanes are blocked due to a crash involving multiple vehicles at the 124 mile marker. However, the Georgia Department of Transportation stated in a 511ga.org update that the crash happened around 5:45 p.m. in the southbound lanes and that those lanes are blocked.

Drivers should expect heavy traffic on Interstate 75 and Highway 41, according to the sheriff’s office. Avoid the area if possible.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
