Unidentified woman found dead inside vacant Macon home
Coroner Leon Jones says the GBI Crime Lab autopsy will help determine the woman’s identity and cause of death.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — An unidentified woman was found dead Sunday night inside a vacant home on Marse Allen Road in Macon.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says the Macon-Bibb County E-911 Center received a call about the discovery shortly before 8 p.m.
Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones says deputies found the woman inside a home at in the 3900 block of Marse Allen Road around 8:45 p.m. He says he pronounced her dead at 9:05 p.m.
Jones said the woman’s remains were in an advanced state of decomposition. Her identity and how long she had been inside the home have not been determined.
The sheriff’s office says its Criminal Investigation Division and Crime Scene Unit responded.
Jones says an autopsy is scheduled for Thursday at the GBI Crime Lab to help determine the woman’s identity and cause of death.
