UGA hires Schottenheimer as offensive coordinator
ATHENS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The NFL’s St. Louis Rams are looking for a new offensive coordinator.
Brian Schottenheimer, who coached the offense in St. Louis for the past three seasons, has accepted a job as offensive coordinator at the University of Georgia.
The school made the announcement Wednesday.
The 41-year-old has also made coaching stops with the NFL’s New York Jets (OC 2006-2011), San Diego Chargers (QBs 2002-2005) and Washington Redskins (QBs 2001). He does have experience at the college level, having coached wide receivers at Syracuse in 1999 and tight ends at USC in 2000.
Schottenheimer replaces Mike Bobo, who left last month after 14 seasons in Athens to take the vacant head coach job at Colorado State.
