U.S. Marshals 15 Most Wanted fugitive may be in Georgia

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – U.S. Marshals are searching for one of its “15 Most Wanted” fugitives who may be in Georgia.

According to a news release, 39-year-old Matthew Dion is wanted for second-degree murder, arson, and possession of child pornography.

Authorities say Dion killed his parents in their New Hampshire home and set it on fire in March 2014.

“Matthew Dion’s alleged crimes have made him the latest addition to our 15 Most Wanted list, which is reserved for those suspected of heinous crimes such as those Dion is accused of committing,” U.S. Marshals Service Director Stacia Hylton said in a statement.

Federal investigators believe Dion left New Hampshire shortly after the crime and may have a handgun. He is known to have ties in Florida and Georgia, but U.S. Marshals don’t know where he is currently located. Authorities consider him armed and dangerous.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, Dion is 5’10” and weighs around 170 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He has a small horizontal scar on his forehead and blacken teeth due to extensive tooth decay. He may be driving a stolen 2013 silver Hyundai Elantra.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information that leads to Dion’s arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call the nears U.S. Marshals office or the U.S. Marshals Service Communications Center at 1-800-336-0102.
