U.S. Congressman, Houston Co. GOP Chairman encourage voters
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – “This election is about the future of our young people,” said U.S. Congressman John Lewis.
“What’s going to happen in this election will help shape what’s going to happen in this election for the next 12 to 25 years,” said Houston Co. GOP Chairman Henry Childs.
There may be two main political parties with major differences going at it on Election Day.
“So it’s very important,” said Childs.
“We’ve got to stick together and look out for the common good,” said Lewis.
But both are encouraging you to vote.
“It’s about the future of all of us,” said Lewis.
“We have to choose this day–who’s going to shape America and which way America is going to go,” said Childs.
There’s a lot at stake for US Congressman John Lewis, who stopped by Macon Friday to rally voters on the last day of early voting, and to support Hillary Clinton.
“Well I know Hillary Clinton very well, she’s committed, dedicated, I think today she’s better prepared, more prepared to be President of the United States,” said Lewis.
Congressman Lewis highlights Clinton’s experience as a great asset.
“She’s been the first lady of Arkansas, the first lady of America, a US Senator, the Secretary of State,” said Lewis.
Retired Colonel Henry Childs uses Donald Trump’s past to show you why he’s worth your vote.
“Donald Trump is real, he’s just like you and I. He’s a real person. He’s not a politician, he’s not been shaped by political dollars, political favors,” said Childs.
He hopes you’ll vote based on your values.
“Think about how you’re going to raise your child,” said Childs. “How your child is going to turn out. What kind of future is your child going to have? And Donald Trump offers those solution sets for me.”
Election Day is Tuesday.
