10 men arrested on federal gun and drug charges

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) -Ten men were arrested on federal charges Thursday morning and one man is still on the run.

The United States Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia, Charles E. Peeler made the announcement along with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Special Agent in Charge Arthur D. Peralta. They had help from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and District Attorney’s Office.

“We have all coordinated together in an effort to reduce violent crime,” said Peeler.

Peeler announced that the 11 men were indicted a week before their arrests. Those men are, Justin Elliot, Nathaniel Gordy, Willie Johnson, Milton Searcy, Marcus Veal, John Randall, Joshua Scott, Aasim McCoy and Oscar Abram. Titus Sandifer is still on the run.

Bibb County Sheriff David Davis says those men were on the sheriff’s office’s radar for years.

“These individuals have been involved in some quite substantial mayhem in our community,” said Davis.

“Gun violence is particularly heinous because in many instances it’s the innocent people or sometimes worse,” said Peralta.

Since 2001, the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Neighborhood’s goal is to get crime off the streets.

“If you’re a felon, or if you have a domestic abuse charge or if you’re under indictment or if you’re a drug user, do not possess a gun,” said Peeler. “Do not pick up a gun. Do not exchange in gun violence, and do not pull a trigger because if you do, we’re coming. All of us.”

If you know where Titus Sandifer may be, call the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-75100 or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
