Milledgeville PD: Woman, unborn child killed in apparent murder-suicide

Officers responded to the 100 block of North Richmond Street at approximately 10:15 a.m. June 19.

UPDATE (4:30 P.M.) Milledgeville police have identified the two people found dead inside a residence on North Richmond Street Friday morning and now say the case appears to be a murder-suicide.

According to an update released by Police Chief Dray Swicord, a preliminary investigation found that 33-year-old Jajuan Taylor of Milledgeville shot and killed 31-year-old Briuna Hartry of Milledgeville and her unborn child inside the residence.

Investigators said Hartry was approximately 33 weeks pregnant at the time of the incident.

Police believe the incident occurred sometime between midnight and 8 a.m. Friday before Taylor took his own life.

The bodies will be transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab in Macon for autopsies.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Two people are dead after they were found inside a residence Friday morning, according to the Milledgeville Police Department.

Officers responded to the 100 block of North Richmond Street at approximately 10:15 a.m. June 19 after receiving a report of two individuals who were found deceased inside a home, according to Milledgeville Police Chief Dray Swicord.

Officers secured the scene, and detectives have begun an investigation into the deaths.

Police said they are not currently looking for any suspects, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Authorities have not released the identities of the deceased or additional details surrounding the incident.
