Two arrested in Macon for trying to pawn stolen items

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb deputies arrested two men Saturday for pawning stolen items.

26-year-old Ellis Smith and 26 year-old Brian Billingslea were arrested at Van’s Pawn Mart. Bibb deputies said an employee called to report it once he realized the items were stolen. Billingslea ran away from deputies, but they caught him as he was trying to jump a fence. Deputies caught Smith inside the store. 

Smith is charged with burglary, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, obstruction and other outstanding warrants. Investigators believe Smith stole the items he was trying to pawn. Billingslea was arrested for other outstanding warrants.
