Two Arrested in Double Homicide Case
WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Houston County Sheriff’s Office is looking for more people today, who they believe may have been involved in a double homicide on Monday.
Two men in their early twenties were arrested and charged with murder the same day. Thomas Andrew Kelley, 19, and Coleman Lawrence Crouch, 21, were taken into custody for their involvement in a double homicide.
Tuesday, autopsies were performed on the victims. However, the sheriff’s office has not released their names.
The sheriff’s office was notified about the double homicide Monday. “We had some information that an incident, a possible shooting [occured],” said Capt. Jon Holland. Responding deputies arrived at a house around 5 a.m., located in the 100 block of Chadwick Road, where they “made contact” with one of the murder suspects.
Holland said deputies saw where shots had been fired in the home. According to Holland, two men were killed at the house and driven five to seven miles away, near the Bibb and Houston County Line in a wooded area of Georgia Highway 41/49 and North Houston Lake Road. The bodies were located hours later around 12:30 p.m.
According to the captain, one of the suspects knew one of the victims.
Kelley of Byron is charged with two counts of murder. Crouch of Warner Robins is charged with murder and hindering an investigation and hindering the apprehension of a suspect.
Houston County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Dave Carrick said there might be a female involved somehow, but right now she’s not considered a suspect. “We don’t know if she is involved or not yet,” he said. “That is still being investigated.”
Carrick added there were no witnesses of the double homicide.
Holland said the investigation is “on-going.”
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Perry and Atlanta offices are assisting Houston Sheriff’s Office in the double homicide case.
