GDOT: Tucker Road in Macon to close for one week for bridge reconstruction prep

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) –  Contractors with the Georgia Department of Transportation will close a section of Tucker Road in Bibb County for one week starting Friday, October 10 as crews prepare for bridge reconstruction.

According to GDOT, contractors are performing preliminary work involving utility relocation ahead of the reconstruction of the Tucker Road (County Road 742) bridge over Interstate 475 and Rocky Creek.

A traffic detour will go into effect October 10 and remain in place for one week. GDOT has not released details about the detour but said warning signs are posted to notify drivers in advance.

Drivers are encouraged to drive alertly through the area and reduce their speeds.
