DUBLIN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Transformers Organization was founded several years ago by Mayor Phil Best and Police Chief Tim Chatman. The overall goal was to mentor the younger population.
The new initiative called “Transform Dublin,” however, is aimed at helping the city’s older population. The main goal is to help them transition into a job.
With less than 50% of the Dublin population working in the city, Chief Chatman says they want to increase that number. The initiative will teach the population various topics that will help lead people to jobs.
“We teach application 101, the science behind the application, interview and more,” Chatman said.
So far, the initiative has helped several people turn a new leaf. The initiative is also working closely with the school district to help graduating students.
Superintendent of Dublin City Schools Fred Williams says they are excited to see how this new initiative will impact not only the students but also their families.
