Tractor Supply Company Creates More Jobs in Macon

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Tractor Supply Company distribution center made its debut to Bibb County after more than a year of construction.

The 685,000 square foot building houses various products for commercial and residential agriculture, vehicle accessories, and farming.

Vice President of Distribution Bob Churchill says the major company made the right choice by building in Macon.

“The workforce that was here, and available to us was a very strong component in our decision making process, and from a location standpoint, being near the port of Savannah, being able to leverage the import center was key,” says Churchill.

According to the General Manager Kyle Fletcher, the company plans to hire more than 300 people.

“We’ve really made great strides to hire folks from this area obviously. We’re 275 employees today,” Fletcher says.

Tractor supply officially opens its doors on Monday.
