MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The parents of two small children are in custody, and the children are hospitalized, after the children were found with injuries on Thursday.

According to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release, deputies responded to a home on Del Park off Napier Avenue on Thursday morning to perform a welfare check on the children after a witness reported the children were in danger.

Deputies say they found a 2-year-old boy and 4-year-old girl there with injuries. Paramedics responded and took the children to a medical facility. The 2-year-old is listed in “stable but critical condition,” according to medical staff, and the 4-year-old is listed in stable condition.

Their father, 30-year-old Kyle David Rogers, was taken into custody. He was taken to the Bibb County Jail and is charged with aggravated battery, aggravated assault, two counts of first-degree cruelty to children, battery and three counts of terroristic threats.

On Friday, after further investigation, investigators took Dajanae Nicole James, the children’s mother, into custody. She’s charged with two counts of first-degree cruelty to children, and deputies say she also had outstanding warrants from the Sandy Springs Police Department and the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office. Her warrants have been served.

Both Rogers and Jones are being held without bond.
