Toddler Shot in Macon, Taken to Hospital
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A toddler was shot in Macon Thursday afternoon.
Bibb County Sheriff Office’s Sgt. Linda Howard says it happened just before 5 PM at a home on Ayers Road. Authorities have identified the child as one-year-old Terrion Rice. His birthday is Friday.
Deputies say Rice was shot in the upper leg while on the front porch of the home. Five other children were also at the home at the time.
According to a release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, someone drove past the home and fired the shots. Witnesses also say they heard arguing before the shooting. But deputies say they are hearing conflicting stories and they are working to get answers.
The toddler was transported to Navicent Health to be treated. He is in critical but stable condition.
