Woman killed after tire flies from truck striking her

PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A woman was killed after a tire flew from a truck and hit her on Sunday night.

This comes from Lieutenant Kent Bankston with the Houston County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities identified the woman as 22-year-old Kimberly Touchton.

Lt. Bankston says deputies responded to an “unresponsive person” call at a trailer park.

Investigators say that Touchton was taking her dog for a walk when a tire flew from a truck and struck her. They say the dog returned home without Touchton, which alarmed her fiance.

After a search, the fiance found Touchton face down about 20 yards from the road near the trailer park.

Emergency medical staff took Touchton to the Houston Medical Center.

Later, investigators found the pickup truck abandoned further down the road near the Bibb County line.

Driver identified

Bankston identified the driver as Brian Seth Carmicheal. Carmichael faces a charge of Failure to Report an Accident Resulting in Death or Injury.

Investigators determined that the tire came off while the driver traveled the road.

Lieutenant Banks says this incident is still under investigation.
