Tips to organize your suitcase while traveling

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Summer is here and that means many of us are going on a summer vacation. Professional organizer Andi Willis shares some tips on how you can pack your suitcases to get the most out of that space while you travel.

Willis suggests if you are flying to wear your heaviest and bulkiest shoes on the plane to save room in your suitcase. She adds you should put your tennis shoes near the bottom close to the wheels so they won’t squish your clothes.

Willis suggests rolling your clothes to save room. You can roll individual pieces or group items together. Willis says you should also bring disposable shopping bags just in case you need to take home a wet bathing suit or something like that.

If you’re traveling by car, Willis says you should use a laundry basket to pack your clothes.

Also, keep your special equipment, like electrical plugs for overseas, in a box so you know where everything is when you get ready to travel.
