Tips to organize your desk
Willis says these tips can be used for your home office, the desk in your kitchen, and the desk at your workplace.
She suggests having an inbox where your incoming mail, papers, or memos can collect so they don’t end up all over the place. Willis adds it is important to have a trashcan nearby.
Willis says use small baskets to organize your pens, pencils, paperclips, post-it notes, and other items inside your drawers. This will prevent them from getting jumbled up when you open or close your desk drawers.
She adds your desk is a matter of real estate. Put the things that you use all the time close to you. If you have files that you access every so often, you can put those a little further away from you. Extra things like office supplies, tax files, or reference documents can go far away, like in a closet or another room.
Finally, Willis says you want to keep your desk simple. Don’t put too many little knick knacks on it.
