Thursday is the calm before another round of strong storms Friday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Pleasant weather will stay with Middle Georgia Thursday before another cold front brings a chance for severe weather again on Friday.
The Rest of the Evening
Skies will remain mostly clear for much of Middle Georgia. Some passing cirrus clouds may pass through, but those will do little to keep heat around Middle Georgia overnight. Low temperatures will dip towards the freezing point with winds from the southwest coming in at around 5 mph.
Tomorrow
It will be a partly sunny and mild afternoon around Middle Georgia with high temperatures mainly reaching the upper 50s and lower 60s. Winds will begin from the west-southwest before shifting towards the south over the back half of the afternoon. Speeds will be light.
Overnight skies will begin mostly clear as the wind continues to shift until it comes from the southeast. Expect the wind speed to begin to increase ahead of Friday morning as cloud cover begins to thicken around the region. Temperatures will reach their valleys overnight in the lower 40s for most of Middle Georgia.
Friday and Beyond
It will be a mostly cloudy start with a few small showers to begin the final day of the work week. A warm front arriving early will raise temperatures into the upper 60s and potentially lower 70s with dew points likely into the mid 60s. The cold front will begin to move into Middle Georgia around lunchtime. As of now the SPC has issued a Level 3 “Enhanced” risk for all of Middle Georgia in regards to severe weather Friday afternoon. Model guidance is hinting at isolated to scattered storms, some of which could end up being rotating thunderstorms, or supercells. These supercell storms are the ones most likely to spawn powerful long-tracking tornadoes vs a line of storms where tornadoes are weaker and shorter lived.
Conditions should begin to improve in the evening with rain clearing out during the late evening hours. Overnight lows will be in the mid 30s under clear skies. The weekend looks to be sunny but a bit cool and breezy.
