Three Milledgeville non-profits receive over $50,000

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Three non-profits in Milledgeville received over $50,000 in grant money that that will impact their community.

The Community Foundation of Central Georgia awarded the Milledgeville-Baldwin Habitat for Humanity and The Lockerly Arboretum $20,000 each and Community and Schools of Milledgeville-Baldwin $12,860.

The Community Foundation of Central Georgia wants all non-profits to feel comfortable reaching out if they need any financial assistance.

“To be able to help the non-profits do what they need to do, and to be able to ask for what they need is very important to the community foundation, and that’s what the non-profit grant program is all about,” says Alex Leahy who is the Program Officer for The Community Foundation of Central Georgia.

Milledgeville-Baldwin Habitat for Humanity will use the funds to enhance the technology center at the Harrisburg Community Center.

The Lockerly Arboretum will be able to renovate furniture as part of their ‘Invest in Rose Hill Campaign’ and the Community and Schools of Milledgeville-Baldwin will provide four tutors to elementary students.
