Three killed in overnight shooting in Macon

Two people died at the scene and a third died at the hospital, according to the coroner and sheriff's office.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Three people are dead after being shot overnight on Williams Street in Macon.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, Macon-Bibb E-911 received a call about a shooting in the 500 block of Williams Street, just off Anthony Road, just before 10:30 p.m.

The caller said the person shot, later identified by Coroner Leon Jones as 27-year-old Quantayris Townsend, had been taken to the hospital. Jones says medical staff  at Piedmont Macon pronounced him dead at the hospital.

Deputies then received an additional call and responded to the same area, where they found two men unresponsive with a gunshot wound. Both victims, identified by Coroner Leon Jones as 21-year-old Brandon Thomas and 16-year-old Markell Bonner Jr., died at the scene.
