Thousands attend annual Forsythia Festival

FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Forsythia Festival organizers estimate about 20 to 25,000 people came to this year’s event.

The annual event features arts and crafts vendors from across the southeast.

Lindsey Childs, the Event Manager for the Forsyth-Monroe County Chamber of Commerce thinks this year’s event was such a success because of the changes made to the children’s activities.

“We introduced the wrist band program so it made it really affordable. It’s only 15 dollars per child and they could ride all the rides that they wanted to all weekend. We saw a huge response to that and everyone was really happy with it,” said Childs.

Childs is already working on plans for next year’s 30th Annual Forsythia Festival. She hopes to recognize vendors who have been with the event for that long.
