MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Pollen levels in Middle Georgia are spiking as warm weather returns after plentiful rain.

Scattered cirrus clouds will stick over Middle Georgia through this evening and much of tonight. It will be another chilly night with low temperatures dropping into the lower 40s for most of the region. Ambient wind will be out of the west-southwest around 5 mph.

It will be another warm and relatively sunny day around Middle Georgia Wednesday. Highs will reach into the upper 70s around much of the region during the afternoon. Pollen levels will be rather rough with trees and mold being very high. Grass and weed pollens, however, remain low at this time. Wind is expected to be light out of the southwest throughout the day.

Tomorrow night skies will feature a few clouds as things get a little more humid, however no rain is expected. Temperatures will drop into the mid to upper 40s ahead of Thursday morning.

Thursday and Beyond

Temperatures will likely creep into the lower 80s for a handful of locations Thursday afternoon. More clouds will roll in during the evening as a cold front approaches. This front will near the region on Friday before stalling out, bringing a chance for multiple rounds of rain Friday afternoon and overnight. Rain is expected again over the weekend with the possibility of a few showers or perhaps a storm Saturday and widespread storms Sunday.
