MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Expect Middle Georgia to start seeing temperatures in the 80s come Wednesday afternoon.

This Evening

It has been an overcast day across Middle Georgia resulting in much cooler conditions than expected. These clouds will work to clear out as the sun goes down and even into the overnight hours. Conditions should be mostly clear overhead by Wednesday morning, however some fog will be possible during the sunrise (and possibly a bit later). Temperatures will largely valley in the lower 50s however a couple of upper 40s may be possible. The wind will be light from the east-southeast.

Tomorrow

The heat the Peach State saw to start the month of March will return Wednesday with highs around Middle Georgia expected in the upper 70s and lower 80s. The wind will hover around 5 mph from the southeast. Scattered mid-level clouds are expected through the afternoon.

Overnight will be mostly clear and warm with lows likely to be around 15 degrees above the average for this time of year (mid-upper 5os). The wind will remain light from the southeast.

Thursday and Beyond

The pattern taking over beginning late this week will be more like summer than spring. While temperatures may not be summer-like (low-mid 80s) the light winds, partly sunny skies, and isolated pop-up storm chances all will be. This is thanks to a ridging pattern that has taken over the southeastern US.
