MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The heat will continue Thursday afternoon as a few spots may reach 90 degrees.

This Evening

A mostly sunny afternoon will become a mild night as a few upper level clouds may move in through the overnight hours. Temperatures should be around the average with lows likely in the mid 50s across the region. The warmest spots may stay around 60. (I know what the graphic says. The low temperatures so far this week do not support that.) The wind will be light out of the southwest.

Tomorrow

Another mostly sunny and hot day is likely Thursday as a few more spots may reach 90 degrees for the afternoon high. Most locations will remain in the upper 80s, however. The wind will flow from the southwest at 5-10 mph with gusts reaching around 15 mph. Cloud cover should be limited to scattered cumulus in the afternoon.

Expect partly cloudy skies overnight with a temperature valley in the mid to upper 50s. The wind will remain light out of the southwest.

Friday and Beyond

More spots will reach 90 degrees Friday afternoon as the hottest days arrive to finish the work week and begin the weekend. A cold front is expected to arrive on Sunday which will bring strong northwest winds and perhaps a chance for a couple of showers. Below average temperatures are expected to begin next week.
