Temperatures surge back into the 80s Thursday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – After a brief midweek cooldown temperatures will be back above normal for the final days of the work week.
This Evening
Mostly cloudy skies from the afternoon should clear out some through the evening and early overnight hours. This will lead to mostly clear conditions by sunrise Thursday morning. Temperatures should drop into the low to mid 50s accompanied by light wind from the southeast. Some fog will be possible during the early morning tomorrow as well thanks to the calm conditions and increasing moisture content.
Tomorrow
More sunshine will make a return to Middle Georgia Thursday, especially early. Scattered clouds are likely through the afternoon hours when temperatures peak in the lower 80s. The wind will be light from the south-southwest around 5 mph.
Overnight will be clear and rather warm with temperatures only dropping a bit below 60 degrees by Friday morning. A few spots may stay at 60 or just above it. The wind will be light out of the southwest. Fog is again likely leading through the sunrise Friday morning.
Friday and Beyond
Friday will be pretty hot and sunny like Monday was with most locations climbing into the upper 80s in regards to temperatures. It is possible the hottest spots reach 90. A few record highs may also be set.
A cold front Friday night will drop temperatures back into the lower 70s along with plenty of wind out of the northeast. Seasonal temperatures will stick around through the weekend before climbing again next week.
