Temperatures soar Wednesday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Highs will eclipse 80 degrees across much of Middle Georgia Wednesday afternoon.
This Evening
A sunny and warm afternoon will give way to a mostly clear and relatively chilly night. Temperatures will drop down into the lower 40s and upper 30s. Wind will be calm from the southwest as it hovers around 5 mph.
Tomorrow
Sunny skies will start the day across Middle Georgia with high clouds moving in from the west during the afternoon. It will be quite toasty as most if not all of the region will see highs of 80+. Wind will be a bit breezier from the southwest as it ranges from 5-12 mph, gusting as high as 20 mph. Expect more mid level clouds to begin arriving during the sunset.
Overnight will be mostly cloudy with rain chances climbing a bit heading towards Thursday morning. It will be a warmer night with lows expected in the mid 50s.
Thursday and Beyond
It will be a wet start for many across Middle Georgia Thursday as a cold front brings in scattered showers and perhaps a thunderstorm or two. The good news is severe weather is not expected this time around. The bad news is the amount of rain coming in will not help with drought conditions nor will it help much with reducing pollen levels.
Thursday is the first day of spring however temperatures will be a bit cooler thanks to the early morning cold front. Friday will also be below average with temperatures as the Cherry Blossom Festival begins. Expect temperatures to return to the 70s over the weekend. The next opportunity for rain after Thursday morning will be Sunday night/Monday.
