A mostly sunny afternoon will give way to clear skies overnight tonight. Thanks to wind shifting directions from the northeast to the southeast expect warmer overnight lows vs the past couple of nights as most spots will be in the mid 60s, or around average for this time of year. Wind will remain light as it becomes more southeasterly by tomorrow morning. Some patchy fog will also be possible.

Another partly to mostly sunny day is likely Tuesday afternoon as most highs reach 90 degrees. Wind will be light from the southeast around 5 mph. Rain is unlikely however one or two stray showers can’t 100% be ruled out.

Wednesday and Beyond

Wednesday will be the hottest day of the week as humidity also continues to climb. Rain odds will still be low on Wednesday however Thursday evening and into the weekend will see more widespread chances return. This is thanks to a cold front coming in from the west ahead of the weekend. A bit of a temperature drop should follow its passage.

Gabrielle is currently a Major Category 3 Hurricane however it will stay out to sea as it continues to turn to the northeast. Unfortunately there are two other areas to watch in the Atlantic basin that are not too far from the Southeastern US/Caribbean Islands. One of those areas has 80% development odds while the other one has 50% development odds. Both could be of interest to the Southeastern US and thus should be watched.
