Temperatures drop below average again Tuesday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Cloud cover will remain dominant Tuesday as afternoon temperatures stay below average for this time of year.
This Evening
While there was plenty of sunshine over the first half of the day clouds have filled in this afternoon. A few isolated showers or perhaps a thunderstorm will be possible this evening and overnight. It will be a warm night with low temperatures largely staying above 60 degrees leading into Tuesday morning. The wind will shift out of the northeast around midnight with speeds ranging from 5-15 mph. Gusts should range from 15-20 mph.
Tomorrow
Cloud cover will stick around tomorrow with the southern third of the region likely to see some showers or perhaps a thunderstorm. Those over the northern half of the region will likely see no rain at all. Temperatures will peak in the upper 70s and lower 80s accompanied by easterly winds at 5-10 mph.
Overnight will see some clearing with the clouds as the wind flows from the east-northeast around 5 mph. No rain is expected and temperatures will drop into the mid to upper 50s across Middle Georgia.
Wednesday and Beyond
Wednesday will be the final chance for rain this week as a cold front passes through the region in the afternoon and evening. Those rain odds look to be limited in scope with only a few showers or perhaps a storm possible during the afternoon. Sunnier conditions and below average temperatures will return Thursday, however temperatures will rebound this coming weekend as a heat wave begins.
