Temperatures drop a bit to finish the week

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – After a midweek heat wave temperatures will be closer to normal to finish the week around Middle Georgia.

A partly sunny and warm afternoon will give way to a partly cloudy night that may feature a few isolated storms early on. A Level 1 “Marginal” threat for severe weather includes all of Middle Georgia for the possibility of a couple of damaging wind gusts. Overnight lows will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s accompanied by light and variable winds.

It will be a partly cloudy and relatively hot end to the week with highs expected in the lower 90s for most of the region. Wind will be light from the south.

Over the back half of the afternoon and into the evening storms will become more likely. As of now a bit more than half of the region is included in a Level 1 “Marginal” threat for severe storms due to the potential for a couple of damaging wind gusts.

Overnight will be partly cloudy and muggy with lows again in the upper 60s and lower 70s ahead of Saturday morning. While a storm or two will be possible early, all rain should be gone by sunrise.

Partly cloudy skies are likely both Saturday and Sunday with highs hovering around 90 degrees (near average) and lows largely in the lower 70s. Close to half the region will have an opportunity for storms in the afternoon and evening. This pattern will continue into next week.
