UPDATE: Man charged with murder in May death on Burke Street in Macon
The sheriff’s office says a Crimestoppers tip led deputies and a U.S. Marshals task force to Thomas at a Hillcrest Avenue home.
UPDATE (7/15/26): The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says 34-year-old Taylor Thomas has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the May 7 death of 43-year-old Robert Lee Glover.
According to the sheriff’s office, the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and Bibb County deputies went to a home on Hillcrest Avenue after receiving a Crimestoppers tip. Investigators executed search and arrest warrants before taking Thomas into custody.
Thomas is being held without bond at the Bibb County Jail.

MACON, Georgia (WMGT/DT) – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death that happened early Thursday morning in the 1000 block of Burke Street in Macon.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were called to the home just before 1 a.m. after reports of a person found unresponsive.
When deputies arrived, they found a 43-year-old man on the front porch of the home. Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley pronounced the man dead at the scene.
The victim’s name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
Investigators say the case remains active, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
