Taylor County Schools dismiss students early due to water outage

Water outage in Butler prompts early release for all Taylor County schools

BUTLER, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Taylor County Schools dismissed students early today because of a water outage in Butler, school officials said.

Bus students and car riders were dismissed at staggered times. Taylor County Primary School released students at 1:30 p.m., followed by Taylor County Upper Elementary at 1:40 p.m. Taylor County Middle School and Taylor County High School dismissed students at 1:45 p.m.

School officials said the early release was necessary because of the water outage impacting the area.

The early release affected all schools in the district on January 21, 2026.
