UPDATE: Taylor County drive-by shooting leads to arrests, multiple charges
Two suspects are facing multiple charges after a drive-by shooting that caused property damage, according to deputies.

UPDATE (4/2/26): The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office says two people have been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting on Hicks Road.
According to a Facebook post on Thursday, investigators arrested 20-year-old Devion “DJ” Thomas and 18-year-old Dequavion Thomas, both of Reynolds, within 48 hours of the incident.
Deputies say both are charged with six counts of aggravated assault, discharging a firearm from a vehicle, discharging a firearm from a roadway, reckless conduct and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
According to the sheriff’s office, the case is being investigated as gang-related.
“Thanks to the swift and dedicated work of our investigators, these dangerous individuals were taken into custody quickly,” Sheriff John Sawyer said. “We will not tolerate this type of violent behavior in our community. This would not have been possible without the assistance of Chief Lonnie Holder and the Reynolds Police Department.”
The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges or arrests are possible, according to the sheriff’s office.

REYNOLDS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help investigating a drive-by shooting that happened late Tuesday night.
According to a Facebook post from the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday to the 200 block of Hicks Road. When they arrived, they determined the incident involved shots fired from a vehicle.
Deputies say the shooting caused minor property damage, but no one was injured.
Investigators are continuing to process the scene and follow up on leads. Officials say details remain limited as the investigation is ongoing.
Sheriff John Sawyer is urging anyone who may have been in the area at the time, or who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, to come forward.
