Tampered Crawford County grave belongs to confederate soldier
KNOXVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – According to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, a grave that was dug up over the weekend belonged to a confederate soldier.
Investigators say the grave belonged to First Lieutenant James Nichols. He died in 1866.
The sheriff’s office adds the contents of the grave could have been stolen.
The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating this case.
