Deputies: Suspected explosive devices in Macon backyard were training devices
Workers found the devices while clearing the property, leading to a response from the Bibb County Bomb Squad and Robins Air Force Base.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Two suspected explosive devices found in a backyard on Metro Way on Monday were determined to be inert training devices, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said in a social media post Tuesday that workers found the items while clearing the backyard of a home for their employer.
According to the post, deputies with the Patrol Division and members of the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad responded, along with the Robins Air Force Base 116th EOD Unit.
The sheriff’s office EOD Unit inspected and X-rayed the items and determined they were likely training devices. The 116th EOD Unit later examined both items and confirmed they were
confirmed they were training devices and not live explosives.
The Air Force unit recovered the devices and took them to Robins Air Force Base.
