Suspect in custody after murder at Warner Robins motel

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Warner Robins Police Department is working a homicide at the Executive Inn on Watson Boulevard.

The call came in around 4:16 a.m. on Wednesday, according to a spokeswoman from the department.

Investigators say 38-year-old Artis Jones shot and killed 52-year-old D’Andre Willis inside of a hotel room. Willis was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Willis was shot three times.

Officers believe there was an argument before the shooting.

Willis is charged with murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The spokeswoman said at this time, officers don’t believe this shooting is connected to another motel shooting that killed another man last month.

Anyone with information is asked to call Macon Regional CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-877-68-CRIME.
