Sunshine to stick around for Valentine’s Day

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – High pressure will keep the sunshine around the Peach State tomorrow.
The Rest of the Evening
Skies will remain clear this evening and tonight as the system from this past weekend continues to move further away. The wind will also calm tonight as it blows from the north-northwest around 5 mph. Low temperatures will mainly dip into the low to mid 30s, but a couple of spots could reach the freezing point.
Valentine’s Day
Mostly sunny skies are likely tomorrow with temperatures climbing into the mid 60s for much of Middle Georgia. The wind will be rather calm as it predominantly comes in from the east at around 5 mph. A light sweater may be necessary for those who choose to dine outdoors tomorrow, especially if it’s for supper.
Tomorrow night expect scattered clouds with low temperatures falling into the upper 30s. The winds will mainly come from the south at around 5 mph.
Thursday and Beyond
Partly sunny skies are expected Thursday with highs reaching into the upper 60s (a couple of spots may crack 70) as the wind comes from the southwest at around 5-10 mph. Cloud cover will thicken more overnight as mostly cloudy skies are expected Friday with similar highs in the afternoon. A few showers are possible overnight Friday with more rain possible Saturday. However, this forecast is subject to change as the latest runs of the European model are backing off the rain odds for this weekend in favor of showers during the middle of next week. The American model, on the other hand, is doubling down and increasing the rain odds for Saturday.
