Sunshine sticks around for Christmas

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Mostly sunny skies and seasonal highs are expected for Christmas around Middle Georgia.
The Night Before Christmas
Skies will be clear rolling into tonight and will stay that way across the region. It will be another cold one as temperatures drop towards the freezing point around the region. The coldest spots may go below freezing again, however faucets do not need to be dripped. Wind will flow from the northeast at around 5 mph through tonight.
Christmas Day
Sunny skies will begin the day across Middle Georgia and temperatures will warm into the lower 60s for most of the region in the afternoon. Wind will be a bit breezier from the east at 5-10 mph, gusting to about 15 mph. Some high clouds may begin to arrive from the west in the late afternoon/early evening.
Overnight cloud cover will increase, leading to a bit of a warmup with overnight lows. Expect east-northeast winds at 5-10 mph to accompany lows in the mid to upper 30s. A few spots may stay above 40 degrees.
