Sunshine returns Tuesday as temperatures keep climbing

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Temperatures will be more seasonal Tuesday afternoon as sunny skies return to the Peach State.
This Evening
What has been a cloudy and wet day will stay cloudy through the evening, even with rain subsiding ahead of the suppertime hours. Clouds will not break up until after sunset, however there should be some clearing going on by midnight tonight. It will be a chilly night, however when compared to the temperatures Middle Georgia has seen in recent days it’s actually going to a be a more mild night. While lows may dip to around freezing in the coldest spots road temperatures will stay above freezing, so no icing is expected ahead of Tuesday morning. Wind will flow from the northwest at 5-10 mph.
Tomorrow
Tuesday should be a pretty sunny day with highs reaching the lower 60s across the region, or around the average for late January. Wind will be a bit breezier as it shifts from the northwest to the southwest throughout the afternoon at 5-12 mph, gusting as high as 20 mph.
Skies will remain mostly clear tomorrow night as the wind flows more from the west-southwest around 5-10 mph. Temperatures will bottom out in the upper 30s and lower 40s, or around the average for this time of year.
Wednesday and Beyond
Middle Georgia will keep it pretty sunny Wednesday as highs reach the upper 60s. Temperatures will stay warm into the end of the week when highs in the 70s will likely accompany thunderstorm chances on Friday. This will be something to watch for the potential for severe weather.
