Sunny skies return to begin the new week

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Chilly but sunny conditions have returned to Middle Georgia following the rain from this past weekend.
This Past Weekend
Parts of Middle Georgia saw very little rain, while others saw more than their fair share. Totals are posted above.
The Rest of the Evening
Clear skies will stay with Middle Georgia along with chilling breezes from the northwest. Temperatures will dip below 30 degrees for most of the region with wind chills dipping into the lower 20s. Gusts could range from 15-20 mph overnight. Dripping faucets would be a good idea for folk in older homes/buildings.
Tomorrow
Sunny skies are expected again tomorrow with temperatures likely topping off in the upper 40s and lower 50s. Winds from the north will be a lot calmer, however, as they hang around the 5 mph mark. A couple of cirrus clouds may be seen during the afternoon, but that should be all.
Overnight skies will be mostly clear with temperatures dipping into the mid 20s around the region. While the wind will be much calmer, chills could still dip into the lower 20s. Faucet dripping is suggested for everyone due to the extreme cold.
Wednesday and Beyond
Partly sunny skies will be likely the rest of the week as a mix of cirrus and stratus clouds pass through. Temperatures will largely top off in the 50s until the weekend arrives. Expect below freezing temperatures each night leading up to the weekend as well.
