Sunny skies return Thursday following Wednesday’s rain

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – High pressure will take back over the southeast once the rain from this afternoon clears out.
The Rest of the Evening
Light to moderate rain will pass through Middle Georgia as the evening goes on. Rain totals for tonight should stay under a half inch, even in the wettest spots. It will be cold with low temperatures staying in the low 40s and upper 30s through the evening. Low temperatures will be around freezing, but that will be after the rain stops (before midnight) and the clouds clear out (ahead of sunrise tomorrow). Winds will come from the northwest at about 5-10 mph.
Tomorrow
It will be a clear and cool day around Middle Georgia. Temperatures will reach the mid 50s in the afternoon with wind from the north coming in at 5-10 mph. Gusts could reach as high as 15 mph at times.
Tomorrow night will also be clear with low temperatures likely to dip into the upper 20s around much of the region. Winds will blow out of the northeast at around 5 mph.
Friday and The Weekend
Friday will start sunny before clouds arrive in the afternoon. Highs should again reach the mid 50s for most of the region with winds out of the east at about 6-12 mph. Gusts will likely range from 15-20 mph throughout the day. Overnight widespread rain is likely with a warm then cold front coming through. Rain will linger into early Saturday but should clear out ahead of lunchtime. Clouds may linger into the evening.
Nicer conditions will return Sunday and stay into Monday. More rain will arrive Monday night and into Tuesday in the form of thunderstorms.
