Sunny skies begin the new week

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Sunshine has returned to Middle Georgia after a cold front brought powerful storms to the region this weekend.
This Evening
It will be a very pleasant August evening around Middle Georgia as temperatures should be dipping into the 70s ahead of 10 pm. Skies will be mostly clear, making for a great view of the full moon for this month. It’s known as the Full Sturgeon Moon as this is the breeding season of the fish that once were rather populous. The moon will also be in Perigee, meaning it will be at its closest point to the Earth on its orbit. This has many dubbing it a “Supermoon”. Low temperatures will be in the mid to upper 60s as the wind flows from the north around 5 mph.
Tomorrow
Mostly sunny skies are anticipated again for Tuesday as highs reach the upper 80s and lower 90s. Wind will be out of the north-northeast around 5 mph, and rain will be difficult to come by. Humidity will also remain low, so heat indexes should not be much above the actual temperature.
Overnight expect mostly clear skies save for the southern counties that will likely see some clouds roll in after midnight. Overnight lows will be in the upper 60s for most of Middle Georgia as the wind comes from the northeast at 5-10 mph.
