Sub-freezing temperatures expected overnight tonight

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Temperatures will plunge below the freezing point as clouds clear overnight.
This Evening
A cloudy afternoon will see clearing after sunset around Middle Georgia. This will lead to a frigid night around the region with lows likely to drop into the upper 20s and lower 30s. Wind will remain out of the northwest at around 5-10 mph. Gusts could still reach to around 15 mph. Wind chills out the door Wednesday could drop into the mid 20s.
Tomorrow
Mostly sunny skies are likely Wednesday and it should be the warmest day of the week. Highs will reach the mid to upper 50s accompanied by light wind from the northwest.
Expect no change to the wind heading into tomorrow night. Scattered cirrus clouds will move over the region during the overnight hours. Expect low temperatures around freezing leading into Thursday morning.
Thursday and Beyond
Cloud cover will return Thursday with sunshine becoming hard to come by after lunchtime. Showers may start to move in during the late afternoon with heavier rain expected overnight and much of Friday. More rain may also be possible over the weekend. This is all thanks to another low pressure system expected to track northeast through Georgia from the Gulf of America.
