Students learn leadership potential at district rally

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The district’s fifth annual Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSO) Leadership Rally was held at Central High School on Saturday.

The rally teaches students what it takes to be an active leader within their organization.

“Student officers from all our clubs across the district are coming together to learn about employability skills, dressing to impress, teamwork, and ethics,” said Bibb Co. CTAE Dept. Supervisor, Jason Weiss.

The event gave these student officers the knowledge and ideas to run a successful CTSO.

One student that attended the rally, Homer Jones, Jr., is a senior at Central High School and the President of the Future Business Leaders of America chapter.

“I’m here today to explore my options and to show my leadership skills. To learn more about what it is to be a leader and how to be a leader,” said Jones.

Jones went to the rally last year and he believes this event is a huge stepping stone to get to the bright future he sees for himself.

“I see myself going to college and graduating. I see myself becoming a teacher,” said Jones.

Coordinators of the event hope to see these student officers take the lessons they learned at the rally back to their schools to teach their classmates.
