Students and Faculty at Northeast High Partner with Mobile Food Pantry to give back
Students and faculty are taking the challenge to stop hunger throughout the Bibb county & Macon community by helping and donating fresh vegetables and meats to anyone in need before the holidays at northeast high school.
“Our students have decided to take the opportunity and help with this donation. They went over to the food bank, two days ago to help pack and then as families arrived today, you notice most of our boys and some of our young ladies helped out. They were helping carry groceries to the cars for people who need assistance. This is just our way of giving back on our last day here for the first semester,” says Steven Jones, Principal at Northeast High school.
Students like Kayla Randall says she’s happy to get the opportunity to be apart of a great program.
“Well, it makes me feel better as a student to give back to people in need. It makes me feel better as a person and everything feels great when you do something for someone else,” says Randall, a student at Northeast High School.
World Changers Pastor Horace Holmes, goal is to serve over 300 families before the holiday.
We’re trying to stop hunger here in Macon, and there’s no other better way to do it. Nobody in Macon should go hungry,” says Holmes
The middle Georgia community food bank and world changers church will be providing more food throughout the middle Georgia area before the holidays.
