Stratford captures state title in thriller over rival FPD

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Stratford girls soccer team captured its first state title since 2013 on Tuesday night as the Eagles took down rival FPD, 4-3, in overtime.

The GIAA Class AAAA state championship game was supposed to kick off at 7:30 p.m., but lightning delayed the contest more than two hours. However, when it was all said and done, the Eagles were crowned state champions, capping off a perfect 20-0 season.
