Storms to taper off this evening

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Storms have been active through the afternoon, however they will dwindle through the evening.
This Evening
Scattered storms from the afternoon will taper off as the sun sets. While a couple of storms or showers may linger into tonight, they shouldn’t be very strong. Overnight will be partly cloudy with low temperatures in the low to mid 70s. Some fog will be possible overnight following the rain from this afternoon and evening. Ambient wind will be gentle once again out of the west-southwest.
Tomorrow
The heat will begin to get oppressive as temperatures climb into the upper 90s with heat indexes pushing 110F. Wind will again be pretty calm as it continues in from the west-southwest. This will only change with any storms in the afternoon and evening. While a few storms will be possible, the odds look to be a bit lower than what has been seen so far this week.
Overnight skies will be partly cloudy with lows expected again in the low to mid 70s. Calm winds will allow patchy fog to develop, especially in areas that saw rain in the afternoon/evening.
The Tropics
The Atlantic Basin is beginning to stir again with Florida and the surrounding waters being highlighted by the NHC as having a 60% chance for the development of a Tropical Depression in the next 7 days. Those odds are low over the next 48 hours, however. This will require monitoring as this week ends, however.
