While Middle Georgia saw a wave of storms move through earlier this morning, another round of storms looks likely tonight coming from Alabama and Tennessee. Some of these storms could bring damaging winds. A Level 2 “Slight” risk includes all of Middle Georgia to account for this hazard. The strongest storms likely will not arrive until after sunset.

There will be plenty of clouds early with another wave of rain looking possible rolling into lunchtime. A few isolated storms will also be possible in the evening, however there should be more sun than clouds over the later part of the day. At this time severe storms are not expected, however a few relatively strong gusts will still be possible. Highs will reach into the mid to upper 80s with heat indexes expected into the lower 90s. Wind will be light out of the west-southwest.

Wednesday and Beyond

The rest of the week looks partly to mostly cloudy with about a 40-50% chance for storms each afternoon and evening. This will help to keep highs a bit below average, however overnight lows will remain above average as humidity stays elevated.
