Storm odds increase Thursday afternoon

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The hot and humid conditions will continue Thursday as afternoon and evening storm chances ramp up.
This Evening
A partly sunny afternoon will become a partly cloudy night across Middle Georgia. A stray shower or storm are possible this evening, particularly in the northwestern third of the region. Temperatures will valley in the mid to upper 60s across the region by Thursday morning. Some fog will be possible especially in areas that get rain this evening. The wind will be calm generally out of the south-southeast.
Tomorrow
Another partly cloudy and hot day is likely Thursday with most spots expected to reach 90 degrees around Middle Georgia. About half the region should see showers or storms throughout the afternoon and evening. The wind will be light from the south-southwest around 5 mph.
A few storms may linger into the overnight but should taper off by midnight. The wind will be light generally out of the east. Thanks to the rain odds from the afternoon and evening fog is likely rolling into Friday morning.
Friday and Beyond
Storm odds will climb further Friday afternoon as conditions begin to trend towards mostly cloudy as the weekend arrives. More than half of Middle Georgia should see storms starting Friday and carrying through the holiday weekend. Those with outdoor plans for the weekend should prepare accordingly. Washout conditions are unlikely but the afternoons will be hit or miss with storms.
